Abstract
DR. PETERSEN'S magnum opus, as the title implies, deals with the effects of that most changeable of mundane things, the weather, rather than with different kinds of climate. In previous volumes (see NATURE, Jan. 16, 1937) he has brought together a mass of observations showing its influence in a great variety of diseases. In the present ante-penultimate volume, in three parts, he discusses the operation of the same causes in another large group of diseases in which disturbance of the blood vessels and blood supply is the characteristic feature.
