Abstract
THE twenty-third report of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, which covers the period October 1, 1937-September 30, 1938, includes the report of the Committee of the Privy Council signed by Lord Runciman, and the longer report of the Advisory Council over Lord Riverdale's signature, together with summaries of the work of the National Physical Laboratory and other research stations and research boards and brief accounts of the work of the various research associations. lake previous reports of the Department, the present one gives a most impressive picture of the immense contribution which the work of the Department is making not only to almost every type of industry but also in all aspects of national life.
