Abstract
DR. ARTHUR HENRY CHURCH died on April 24 at the age of seventy-two years. At sixteen years of age he left his home at Plymouth, where his father was in business as a saddler, to be a pupil teacher at Ashburton Grammar School; four years later he entered University College, Aberyst-wyth, and at twenty-four was elected science scholar of Jesus College, Oxford. He was a research fellow of his College from 1908 until 1912 and University reader from 1910 until 1930. One married daughter survives him.
