Abstract
THE Bessemer Gold Medal for 1936 of the Iron and Steel Institute has been awarded to Mr. Fred Clements, director of the Park Gate Iron and Steel Co., Kotherham, in recognition of his distinguished services in improving the technology of the iron and steel industries and, in particular, blast-furnace practice. The presentation of the medal will be made by the president of the Iron and Steel Institute, Sir Harold Carpenter, at the opening session of the annual general meeting of the Institute on May 7.
