International Congress for Applied Mechanics


    CAMBRIDGE MEETING THE fourth International Congress for Applied JL Mechanics was held in Cambridge under the presidency of Prof. C. E. Inglis on July 3-9. About 320 members attended, including representatives of twenty-three countries. More than 140 papers were read, in four sections dealing respectively with general mechanics, hydrodynamics, strength and properties of materials, water waves.
