Abstract
THE accompanying diagram (Fig. 1) suggests a striking example of wave motion in the vertical temperature gradient at St. Hubert Airport, near Montreal, during a large inversion of early morning of Oct. 12, 1930. The upper curve shows the temperature at 100 feet above the ground minus that at 4 feet, in degrees Fahrenheit. The lower curves show the velocity and direction of the wind at 60 feet.
