Abstract
THE magnetic storm which was recorded in NATURE of October 23, p. 603, was accompanied by a display of the aurora which, owing to cloudy skies over a large part of Great Britain, was not seen generally. It is therefore of added interest that Mr. W. B. Housman, of Seaton, West Cumberland, was able to secure eight photographs of the phenomenon, four of which are reproduced herewith (Fig. 1).
