Abstract

WE congratulate the Library Association on this welcome addition (1) to the valuable subject indexes to periodicals which it has already published. Trie present index contains the titles of 15,000 papers, published during the years 1917–19, obtained from the examination of 400 periodicals. It would appear that more than half the papers indexed are in the English language, having been published in the British Empire or in the United States. The language next in evidence is French.
