Abstract
THE Executive Committee of the Advisory Council of Science and Industry for the Commonwealth of Australia has recently published a report covering the period from its appointment to June 30, 1917.1 The Advisory Council was originally appointed on March 16, 1916, and was intended to be a temporary body designed to prepare the way for a permanent Institute of Science and Industry, and to exercise in a preliminary way the functions that will in future belong to the institute.
