Abstract
DR. F. A. COOK has communicated to the American Geographical Society of New York a scheme for the exploration of the Antarctic regions. He proposes to purchase a steam-whaler of 300 tons, equip her specially with several large boats, sledges, and an outfit similar to that used for Arctic travel, including fifty Eskimo dogs.
