Abstract
THE statements of Pervonchine, reported in some recent numbers of NATURE, are equivalent to the following:—That the 210 power of 16 is less by 1 than some multiple of 7 × 214 + 1; and the 221 power of 16 is less by 1 than some multiple of 5 × 225 + 1.
