Welcome to ScholarCast

Science is not only interesting but also fun. To kindle interest in science, convey the awesomeness of how life and the universe work, the facts of science must be passionately and delicately conveyed. In other words, proper science education involves some entertaining. And who better than working scientists or experienced science writers to do just that? After all, they know how science works and how intrinsically beautiful it is. They get it. More importantly, they are inspiring, and their enthusiasm for science is second to none.

We'd like ScholarCast to be a place where selected scientists and experienced science writers will uncover the kernels of scientific ideas for all, and treat science discovery as the living breathing set of those ideas in action. We also want ScholarCast to translate the sense of awe that scientists feel about discovering something new in the lab, or the similar sense of awe that science writers feel when they wrestle through jargon to a point of clarity and joy in the material they cover. ScholarCast will touch readers perhaps infect them with the science virus. (Wouldn't it be swell to have a virus that elicits an interest in science?)

Every week on ScholarCast, a scientist or experienced science blogger will take the wheel and create posts that showcase the beauty of science. The focus will be on the following themes: how science is present in your everyday life, the incremental nature of science discovery, how new discoveries continually improve or sometimes overturn our knowledge of the natural world, and an ever-present category if things that just "wow" us. All told, you can now look forward to a variety of coverage both in topic and voices, while also being entertained.

So join us here on ScholarCast, where we will follow the sparks of scientific discovery!
