Journal name:
  • Questions by Richard Van Noorden, Nicola Jones, Daniel Cressey, Alexandra Witze, Lauren Morello and Ewen Callaway. Coding and illustrations by Chris Ryan. Picture research by Annthea Lewis.

This quiz was corrected on 19 December. No questions or answers were significantly changed. The original wording mistakenly said that Tyrannosaurus Rex red blood cells could not contain DNA (incorrect). It also said that 98 centimetres was the upper limit of sea-level rise by 2100 in IPCC projections; it is only the upper estimate for the range of 'likely' sea-level rise; the worst-case scenario is higher still.
