Supplementary information

This file provides details on the methane measurements with the offset corrections between the two laboratories (LGGE, Bern) and between Vostok and EDC measured in Grenoble. A note on the time resolution of the CH4 measurements (Figure S2), on the correlation between CH4 and EDC temperature warmth maxima (Figure S3) and on the details of the spectral analyses are added. It includes also supplementary figures S1 (CH4 comparison between Greenland and EDC ice cores), and S4 (phase wheels showing the phase relationship between insolation, CH4 and other proxies).

The file contains Supplementary Table.

This file provides the CH4 data of the last 800,000 years from the EPICA Dome C ice core. The CH4 concentrations are listed against depth and the corresponding EDC3_gas_a age.
