Abstract
ON August 15, 1960, a northern rockling, Ciliata septentrionalis (Collett 1875), was caught in the Clyde Sea area. The fish was caught at a depth of 30–40 fathoms in a small mesh cover that had been fitted over the cod end of a trawl used by R.V. Calanus. It is 10.6 cm. in length and agrees closely with the descriptions of Smitt1 and Schnackenback2.
