Exemplary output from a fiber tractography analysis of one patient with bipolar disorder. A regularized streamline algorithm to virtually reconstruct fibres between the subgenual cingulate and the amygdalo-hippocampal region was used. Reconstructed fibres connecting left subgenual cingulate (red) and left amygdalo-hippocampal complex (light brown) in dark blue. Reconstructed fibres connecting the left amygdalohippocampal complex to the rest of the brain are depicted in light blue.
