Welcome to Journal of Exposure Science and Environmental Epidemiology

Journal of Exposure Science and Environmental Epidemiology (JESEE), is a peer-reviewed journal publishing research towards the advancement of exposure assessment. Topics covered in JESEE include: exposure analysis, mechanisms of exposure, development of molecular biomarkers, genomic/proteomic/metabonomic related health effects, the chemical, biological and physical principles used in single/multiple route human exposure analysis, occupational exposure studies and population-based studies.

JESEE is the official publication of the International Society of Exposure Science (ISES). Please read the news section below for important journal updates.

Workplace exposure risk assessment. Quantifying expert opinions in exposure science may lead to a powerful new tool for chemical risk assessment. Read how combining this with publically available data in an open-source algorithm could create a chemically safer workplace.

ISES 2009. The 19th annual conference of the International Society of Exposure Science will take place from November 1-5 in Minneapolis, MN. Participate in symposia and share ideas that will transform exposure science for the 21st century. For further meeting details and information regarding abstract submissions, please go to: www.ises09.org.

Submitting a review? If you are interested in submitting a review to the journal, please contact our Associate Editor of Reviews, Paul Lioy, PhD.

Defining human exposure science. The journal's name change now requires a definition to further describe its scope. Human exposure science is defined as: the study of human contact with chemical, physical or biological agents occurring in their environments, and advances knowledge of the mechanisms and dynamics of events either causing or preventing adverse health outcomes.

Join the society. The International Society of Exposure Analysis promotes communication among all disciplines involved in exposure analysis, recommends exposure analysis approaches to address substantive or methodological concerns, and works to strengthen the impact of exposure assessment on environmental policy.
