Conference 2017

Chris will be speaking on Non-random thoughts on paediatric dentistry. It will cover:

  • Referral for general anaesthesia

  • Choice of restorative for primary teeth

  • Caries management in the erupting molar

  • First molars of poor prognosis, including molar incisor hypomineralisation.

The session is aimed at the whole dental team. Chris says: 'Dental professionals should attend the talk because it addresses some of the issues that confront practitioners managing the dental health of children on a daily basis. The choice of topics has been requested by practitioners and is based on my own experience on the new patient referral clinic'.

At this year's Conference Chris is looking forward to Trevor Burke's talk on managing deep caries [Thursday, 16:45-18:00, Exchange Hall]. He comments: 'I am one of the researchers involved in the FiCTION trial [https://research.ncl.ac.uk/fictiontrial/], looking at caries management in the primary dentition. It comes to an end this year and I am looking forward to seeing the results published, as this will have a major impact on children's dentistry in primary care'.

Chris will be speaking from 13:15-14:15 on Saturday 27 May in Charter Room 1 at the British Dental Conference and Exhibition in Manchester. To register and download the programme, visit www.bda.org/conference.
