Most hypertensive pediatrics patients have renal pathology (70%) and the incidence of hypertension in reflux nephropathy (RN) ranges between 0 and 36%. The incidence of hypertension was analyzed in 119 patients diagnosed primary vesico-ureteric refluxes, who were followed up for at least one year. 78,2% were females. Age ranged from 1 month to 16.5 years. Six patients (5,04%) presented with hypertension. The following table shows type of reflux, grade and treatment.

Conclusion: 5,04% of patients with UTI and vesico-ureteral reflux had hypertension. There was not correlation between duration and severity of reflux. There was not significant relationship between blood pressure and the number of UTI or renal scars. The development of hypertension occurred only in association with displasia.
