Complex 3b·2NO3 was synthesized by a similar method to that used in the preparation of complex 3a (yield, 95%). The PF6¯ salt (3b·2PF6) was synthesized using the method used in preparation of 3b·2PF6. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CD3CN, 25oC, ppm) δ = 8.70 (d, J = 8.4 Hz, 6H), 8.55 (s, 6H), 7.68 (d, J = 8.4 Hz, 6H), 2.54 (d, J = 6.4 Hz, 18H). 13C NMR (100 MHz, CD3CN, 298 K, ppm): δ157.23, 155.51, 130.85, 127.13, 25.01. ESI-MS (CH3CN) m/z: [3b·PF6]+, calcd for C36H36F6N6PPd3S2+, 1078.92; found, 1078.93; [3b+H2O]2+, C36H38N6Pd3OS22+, 477.06; found 475.10, Found: C, 41.92; H, 3.57; N, 8.06. Calc. for C36H36N6O6Pd3S2P2F12 (%): C, 41.89; H, 3.52; N, 8.14.
