Erratum: Islands of speciation or mirages in the desert? Examining the role of restricted recombination in maintaining species

Correction to: Heredity (2009) 103, 434–444; doi:10.1038/hdy2009.151

Since the publication of this paper, the authors have noticed that they included a citation to Turner et al. (2005) on page 440, and then said on page 441 ‘each of the empirical studies cited above specifically documented this pattern at least in part using relative divergence measures such as F_ST and Da and interpreted in the context of regions of low recombination facilitating species divergence in the presence of gene flow.’ In fact, the Turner et al. (2005) study used a different metric, and it does further test directly for the type of artifact we described in our review.
