Estimation of the size of a T-cell-induced lytic lesion

Abstract

The specific cytolytic activity exhibited in vitro by thymus-derived (T) lymphocyte populations from immune animals (see review in ref. 1), is germane to allograft rejection2,3 and to pathways by which neoplastic tissue can be destroyed in vivo4,5. The mechanism involved, however, remains controversial (for one viewpoint see ref. 6) and the nature of the lytic lesion is unknown.
