Isolation and Proof of Structure of Wildfire Toxin

Abstract

For two decades wildfire toxin has attracted attention because of its curious biological and chemical properties. Its structure, reported here for the first time, may be a clue to its mode of action: it is one of the few naturally occurring β-lactams.
