Abstract
Continuous feeding of small amounts of antibiotics to domestic animals has led to the emergence of drug resistant strains of pathogenic bacteria. This article is based on a paper given at a symposium on “The Use of Drugs in Animal Feeds”, organized by the US National Research Council, Washington, DC, 1967.
