Abstract
GAS-PHASE titrations are rarely used because of the lack of suitable and sensitive titration end-point detectors. We have found that ionization detectors1 are eminently suitable to follow the course of a gas–gas reaction in a continuous flow system. The response of such detectors is, in general, unspecific. A number of detectors were investigated; the following discussion deals with ionization cross-section detectors.
