A Circuit for Integration of Temperature Duration greater than Preset Values

Abstract

A SIMPLE instrument for measuring soil temperatures greater than pre-selected values has been developed for studies of biological processes in the soil1. Mean temperatures can be measured by using a thermistor in a circuit with a voltameter2. The basic form has been extended to measure the integral of temperature × time above the pre-selected value by building the thermistor, the voltameter and a diode into a wheatstone bridge circuit.
