Detection by Ionization of Atmospheric Gases during Analysis by Gas Chromatography

Abstract

WHEN small quantities of atmospheric gases are added to pure helium, the electrical conductivity of the helium increases. This effect forms the basis of a sensitive method for detecting these gases in the effluent of a gas chromatography column.
