Dye-sensitized Photopolymerization of Styrene

Abstract

WE have found a number of examples of dye-induced photopolymerization of styrene, in which excited dye molecules directly interact with vinyl monomers, thus promoting the polymerization reaction. Further, an interesting example has been recently found in which the initiation of polymerization can be attributed quite certainly to the energy transference in the strict sense of the word.
