Abstract
THE histophotometric method, as used by L. Lison1, permits the estimation of the deoxyribonucleic acid content of individual nuclei, in sections or smears stained with the Feulgen method. The method postulates that the intensity of the Feulgen stain is directly proportional to the amount of deoxyribonucleic acid present. This very important point has been fully discussed by several authors2–5, and is now generally regarded as satisfactorily proved.
