During the pathological process of pancreatic cancer, the composition of the gut microbiota changes (i.e., intestinal microbiota dysbiosis), and the gut barrier is impaired. As a result, certain gut microbes translocate to the pancreas and colonize the pancreas to induce a suppressive immune microenvironment that facilitates pancreatic cancer progression.
