The editors at Nature Communications, npj Science of Food, Communications Biology and Scientific Reports invite submissions in the areas of alternative/non-animal protein sources, cultivated meat technology (including cell lines, tissue engineering, culture media) and general considerations around cultivated meat.

This Collection explores the diverse functions and implications associated with the transformation of food structures during processing in kitchen/factory and human digestive tract.

The year 2023 marks the mid-point of the 15-year period envisaged to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, targets for global development adopted in September 2015 by all United Nations Member States.
