Communications Materials makes all content freely available to all researchers worldwide, ensuring maximum dissemination of content through the nature.com platform. Content is published online on an ongoing basis, thereby providing timely communication to the community and keeping publication times to a minimum. All papers published in the journal are open access, and each paper is clearly marked with the ‘Open’ icon next to the title.

Communications Materials articles are made open access online and freely accessible, immediately upon publication under a CC BY license (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License).
