Editor's choice: domestic animals

Humans have had a profound effect on the world they inhabit, one that extends to the animals that cohabit it with us, in particular those shaped by domestication. These animals have had a long history in which they have both influenced and been influenced by the human niche. The processes underlying this extended mutualism are not wholly clear, however, advances in sequencing technology, and access to ancient DNA, are providing new insights. This collection gathers together recent research into domestic animals, from present day behaviours, to the history of domestication.
