Markus Grompe directs the Oregon Stem Cell Center at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. In addition to conducting basic research in liver disease and metabolism, Grompe cares for patients with genetic diseases. He received his degree from the University of Ulm in Germany, then trained OHSU and Baylor College of Medicine before joining OHSU's faculty.
