Synthetic methodology

Triple coupling to make alkynes

Alkynes are functional groups which feature in various materials and bioactive molecules; however, efficient divergent strategies for their synthesis are lacking. Now, a coupling reaction between gem-diborylalkanes, esters and an aryl triflimide enables their construction.
