This paper presents a demonstration of the principle of optical control by using molecular vibrations to direct the motion of electrons in a molecule.

Kim, H. et al. Direct observation of mode-specific phonon-band gap coupling in methylammonium lead halide perovskites. Nat. Commun. 8, 687 (2017). This paper reports a demonstration of vibrational control in a perovskite material; the modes of the perovskite’s inorganic lattice were used to induce transient changes in the bandgap of the perovskite.
