Comment on LOVIT study; are high doses rather than vitamin C deleterious in septic patients?

We read, with great interest, results from the LOVIT study [1], reporting evidence of high-dose (HD) vitamin C (vC) administration in septic patients. Unexpectedly, patients who received vC HD had a higher risk of outcome, compared to placebo. However, the authors did not consider the effect of extreme vC HD and exposure, which could annihilate the redox metabolism.
