Graham Stuart Roy was born in 1943 in Lancashire. His academic achievements led him to study dentistry at Liverpool University and it was here he met the love of his life, Margaret. He qualified in 1965 and he and Margaret got married immediately after their graduation. His interests of flying and diving soon started. After completing his house jobs, he joined the RAF on a five-year commission. Graham and Margaret eventually settled on Anglesey, North Wales where Graham set up his practice in Menai Bridge in 1971.

He strived to provide the very best treatment for his patients. His special interests were in dental implants, periodontics, orthodontics, and restorative practice. He enjoyed his work and had a fine reputation across North Wales and further afield. In terms of his clinical work, there is nobody in North Wales that has had such a big impact on dentistry and its community in this region. He didn't believe in advertising his services and he helped so many dentists by either giving advice or taking on the referrals for their patients.

He retired from dentistry at the age of 74 in December 2017. After his retirement, he carried on attending as a guest to the International Team for Implantology (ITI) Implant Study Club, which he founded in North Wales. Graham was a Fellow of the ITI. This was an accolade he held dearly, which was so well deserved. In the later years, he was made a Senior Fellow - a reputational accolade. He lived and breathed the ITI and their philosophies and the long-term friends he made. He was also the local FGDP representative for North Wales for many years.

Although Graham was passionate about work, he worked to live. His two children and five grandchildren were very important to him. His love of diving and woodwork were combined when he bought an old fishing boat. The family spent many a weekend helping him change the empty shell of a fishing boat into a beautiful boat that went on many voyages to Ireland, Scotland and back to where it was built in Brittany, France.

As he worked less, he was able to travel further afield with Margaret to dive some of the best places in the world. He was probably the most ‘English' Welsh Rugby supporter in Wales. He followed Wales all over Europe with Margaret. Graham enjoyed nothing more than eating fish and seafood with a glass or two of wine, influenced by spending time in Spain.

Graham lived a very full life. He will be sorely missed by all his family, friends, and colleagues. His family are truly proud of him.
