For the first time in its 140-year history, the BDA Benevolent Fund's Chairman position will be shared by two people. Shafaq Hussain and Molly Deykin will work together to lead the Board of Trustees following Ros Keeton's retirement at the AGM in July.

Joining the Board in June 2022, Shafaq's experience of advocacy for Parkinson's UK, as well as for Confidental and City of Sanctuary UK, will complement the Co-Chair role.

Molly knew about the BDA Benevolent Fund through her BDA membership and in her role as the British Dental Student Association President. After graduating she was also the Foundation Representative on the BDA Young Dentists Committee.

A series of articles about the history of the BDA Benevolent Fund is published in the BDJ starting in this issue.
