Abstract
The concept of bounded rotation faults is proposed and defined using some simple illustrative examples. It allows many previously unrelated structures to be simply derived from each other. It is suggested that these faults are extended disclinations propagated by a flux of interpolated/subtracted atoms diffusing along the larger interstices at the periphery of the fault.
