Polarizing Power of Coordinated Zinc

Abstract

WE have prepared a macrocyclic complex of zinc with one water molecule in the inner coordination sphere. This complex has a pKa of about 8; this throws light on a question concerning the enzyme carbonic anhydrase which catalyses the hydration of carbonyl compounds.
