Age of the St Malo Migmatite Belt, Northern Brittany

Abstract

THIS communication describes structural and metamorphic features of the St Malo migmatite belt and the adjacent late Precambrian Brioverian meta-sediments near St Jacut-de-la-Mer, Côtes du Nord (Fig. 1). These features demonstrate that the St Malo migmatite belt formed part of the crystalline basement on which the Brioverian sediments were deposited and may be correlated with the Pentevrian described by Cogné1 from adjacent areas.
