Infrared Spectra of Stars, 1–2.5 µm

Abstract

SPECTRA of several northern and southern stars in the infrared region between 1 µm and 2.5 µm have been obtained at 8 cm−1 and 4 cm−1 resolution with a commercial Fourier spectrometer. Those obtained with the 190 cm telescope of the Radcliffe Observatory, Pretoria, are believed to be the first infrared spectra of stars, at wavelengths substantially beyond 1 µm, to have been obtained in the southern hemisphere.
