Abstract
LOBOV et al. have criticized1 our work2 on X-ray diffraction using a 55Fe source and modified Debye–Scherrer geometry. In particular, they have objected to our statement that 55Fe, which is reactor-produced by the (n, γ) reaction as was their source, is contaminated with 59Fe and 54Mn. In their earlier publications3,4, however, they stated that their source in use at that time was contaminated.
