Current treatment options

SERMs such as Evista (raloxifene, Eli Lilly) are used in pre-menopausal patients to prevent the onset of osteoporosis. They are associated with hot flushes and deep-vein thrombosis as a rare side effect; limited data is available on long-term usage.
