Abstract
WE have previously presented evidence, obtained from transplantation studies, which suggested that murine (129/ReJ) muscular dystrophy was of neurogenic origin1, and Gallup and Dubowitz2 have confirmed and further delineated these findings with tissue culture techniques involving spinal cord and muscle. Thus it now seems that the fault lies within the spinal cord or peripheral nerve; yet the nature of this gene-determined defect and the manner in which the dystrophy is produced remain unknown.
