Isolation of Feather Keratin mRNA and its Translation in a Rabbit Reticulocyte Cell-free System

Abstract

12S keratin mRNA isolated from duck embryo feathers is translated in rabbit reticulocyte lysate with a high degree of fidelity, without any requirement for additional components from feather tissue.
