DNA Synthesis in Developing Sea Urchins: Role of a DNA-Nuclear Membrane Complex

Abstract

A DNA-membrane complex has been isolated from nuclei of developing sea urchin embryos. Synthesis of DNA takes place in this fraction both in vivo and in vitro and the complex is relatively absent when DNA synthesis is not occurring, as in the unfertilized egg or during the G2 phase of the division cycle.
