In vivo Conversion of Phenmetrazine into its N-Nitroso Derivative

Abstract

THE possibility that nitrosamines, many of which are powerful carcinogens, can be formed in the stomach of mammals from ingested amines and nitrites1 has led to speculation on the sources of relevant amines for man2. One such source is the large number of drugs that are secondary or tertiary amines, many being taken by an individual for a long time.
