Abstract
PROTEIN aggregates are often dissociated by sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) and the subunit molecular weight then estimated by gel-electrophoresis1–3. This method uses internal standards and at the lower range of molecular weights (approximately 10,000) it may be difficult to find well defined standards. For these proteins it is necessary to utilize the analytical ultracentrifuge.
